Data-Centric and No-Code
the future of application development

ARONTO the data-centric software platform building intelligent no-code applications using knowledge graphs

What is ARONTO?

ARONTO is a concrete implementation of an application development platform built on the principals of the data-centric and NO-Code approach. In ARONTO data drive the development of applications and all application functionality is based on a single, simple and extensible data model. Data are put into the center and exist independent of any application. The ARONTO data model emphasizes the meaning of the data introducing semantic ontology. Data become self- describing, self- organizing and self-aware.

What are intelligent applications?

ARONTO intelligent applications are smart. They drive productivity in organisations and improve user experience significantly by:

  • finding more and relevant information due to intelligent search of different data from desparate sources
  • better understanding what is happening using the relationship between sematic data to predict and interpret change
  • creating high transparency because of common meaning and mutual understanding of the semantic data
  • being highly effective and efficient due to quick changes when the business is changing
  • being more intelligent and collaborative because it is possible to ask questions which not could ask before

What benefits does ARONTO offer?
the benefits using ARONTO are significant and can be divided into benefits for the user, the developer and the enterprise.

User benefits:
The user is able to work with semantic data with a customer specific vocabulary in a user specific workplace. He is working with a dynamic worklist and his activities are guided by a status based workflow. Language variations and multilingualism are supported. For search he has an intuitive search interface.

Developer benefits:
The developer does not write code. He does process based modelling and configuration of semantic data.  The total application is  visualized on one screen and the complexity of applications can be reduced up to more than 90%.
Many parts of an application can be reused for other applications and changes in applications can be done quickly. Development life cycle management is supported.

Benefits for the enterprise:
Enterprise level applications are built in days instead of months or years and prototypes are possible within a few days. Because of the NO-Code development enterprises save up to 90% on time , cost and resources.  There is no need for data conversion between applications and the integration of data is done with nearly no effort. The total history of application results is stored in the graph database (important for compliance cases or business intelligent reports).

ARONTO in brief:

  • Intuitive and flexible user interface
  • Data Model – Ontology based Knowledge Graph
  • Development – Object Process Methodology (OPM) on a no-code basis
  • Reusability – 400 ready-made templates of an enterprise ontology
  • Analysis and decision support – search functionality based on knowledge graph
  • Security – Secure communication, data encryption, Single Sign On
  • Environment – client server, on-premise and cloud operation

ARONTO enables companies to say goodbye to the application-centric paradigm and thus to individual solutions and to develop into a data-centric, knowledge-driven organization. It is no longer a question of solving a departmental use case, because data silos must be minimized as much as possible, as they cost money, reduce the quality of decisions and ultimately slow down the organization. The knowledge-based approach is an integrated semantic approach to information management that enables decisions based on a variety of information. This leads to increased flexibility at the lowest possible cost.
ARONTO is used by companies in various industries to get more value from their data and business processes. Where companies struggle to manage, organize and process data, ARONTO’s semantic technologies help to automate these workflows and generate actionable knowledge. When implementing knowledge-based solutions, ARONTO relies on the Object Process Methodology (OPM) – and not on RDF and OWL standards. This is a new semantic approach, with a methodical approach to application development, with which integrated data and processes can be implemented. The platform provides a trusted and holistic real-time view of any business entity, data, process or workflow. This gives your company the ability to solve a variety of business problems with a single product.

Intelligent Applications

With ARONTO intelligent enterprise applications are developed. Intelligent applications change the way how enterprise applications are inplemented in three major areas:harvest, organize and consume.

Harvest:    intelligent applications enable the collection and integration of all kind of different data(structural data, unstructured data, documents, emails, web content etc.) from different sources.

Organize:  It is possible to unlock hidden information and new information is created from existing information, Partially the information is self-organizing.

Consume: Intelligent applications change the way information is consumed. Information is made available by intelligent queries in natural language.

The ARONTO applications are smart: they find more and relevant information due to intelligent search of different data(structured and unstructured) from disparate sources, they understand better what is happening using the relationship between concepts to predicct and interpret change,  they create high transparency because of common meaning and understanding of the concepts, they are highly effective and efficient due to possible quick changes when the business is changing, they are more intelligent and collaborative because it’s possible to ask questions in natural language which could not asked before.

Knowledge Graph

A knowledge graph, also known as a semantic network, represents a network of real-world-entities i.e. objects, events, situations, or concepts and illustrates the relationship between them. This information is usually stored in a graph database and visualized as a graph structure, prompting the term knowledge ‚graph‘. A knowledge graph is in contrary to relational databases, which work with tables and not with networked data. Knowledge graphs are prominently associated with and used by search engines such as Google and question answering services such as Apple’s Siri and Amazon Alexa, and social networks such as Linkedin and Facebook.

In ARONTO the enterprise ontology represents knowledge as concepts and the relationship between them. This is a knowledge graph that allows both humans and machines to understand and reason about its content. Also the developed ARONTO applications are knowledge graphs because all the apllication data and resulting data are connected. Such applications are much smarter than the applications developed in the application-centric world. Complex searches and evaluations are possible. We speak of semantic or intelligent applications.

Data-Centric

ARONTO is a concrete implementation of an application development platform built on the principals of the data-centric approach. In ARONTO data drive the development of applications and all application functionality is based on a single, simple and extensible data model. Data are put into the center and exist independent of any application. The ARONTO data model emphasizes the meaning of the data introducing a semantic enterprise ontology data model.

This data-centric approach is in contrast to the today’s most used application-centric approach, where data are passive and the applications have exclusive control over the data. In the application-centric approach each application, either developed or bought, has its own data model. The result is thousands of applications with thousands of complex data models including thousands of lines of code in an average enterprise. The application-centric approach leads to silos, legacy systems, shadow IT, need for complex integration and extensive maintenance and an explosion of IT costs and budgets. All these disadvantages can be avoided by using the data-centric approach of ARONTO.

The data-centric approach is a revolutionary approach and many thought leaders in the IT industry have signed the ‚Data-Centric-Manifesto‘ (www.datacentricmanifesto.org).

No-Code

In ARONTO all application functionality is built by No-Code development based on conceptual modelling with the concepts of the ARONTO semantic ontology data model. In order not to start from scratch ARONTO delivers ready- to use 400 concepts as solution designs to create almost every possible enterprise application. If a concept is missing it’s easy to create a new one or adapt an existing one. The aggregate of these 400 concepts is building the open and flexible ARONTO enterprise ontology building an enterprise knowledge graph. A concept is a data object defined by it’s name and it’s parameters and the relation to other concepts.Example: CAR(brand, license plate……) driven by DRIVER(name, license number……). Through the introduction of two special concepts namely STATUS and ACTIVITY the Ontology becomes dynamic and it is possible to model processes and workflows which can be executed directly by a finite state software machine. That is the foundation oft he ARONTO No-Code principal. The model is the specification, its the documentation and is the executable application. The UI is generated automatically. In ARONTO not one line of programming code is written. No expert programmers are needed. The development can be done by subject matter experts or citizen programmers.
